Fulfilling environmental responsibility, the Provincial Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons participated in the municipal long-term project, Tree-Growing Activity at the Municipal Eco-Tourism Park, Hapid, Lamut, Ifugao, July 25.
The team composed of all SK Chairpersons in the Province, partners from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Red Cross, Philippine National Police, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Interior and Local Government and Provincial Population and Sustainable Development- Ifugao Youth Development Department (PPSD-IYDD) planted about 500 seedlings of mahogany and yakal.
The tree-growing activity was a concluding event for the participants during the two-day Provincial Youth Camp held at the Lamut Tourism Village, July 23-25.
The Provincial Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, in coordination with the PPSD-IYDD, organized the Provincial Youth Camp which aimed to further emphasize the importance and role of the youth in nation-building. Other activities included discussion and workshops on SK-related Laws, Parliamentary Procedure, and action planning with a drafted Local Youth Development Plan (LYDP) as an output by each municipality.
Aside from the tree-growing activity participated by the SK Chairpersons, the Lamut SK Chairpersons extended the activity adding 200 hundred more seedlings planted with other partners from the PNP, DILG and DENR on July 26.
