“Set Forth in Faith.” This was the theme of the 6th Ifugao Private Schools Athletic Association (IPSAA) Meet on October 23 to 26, 2013 held at San Francisco High School, this year’s school host.

It was in the year 2007 when this Athletic Meet by the Catholic private schools of Ifugao namely: Assumption Academy (Mayoyao), Don Bosco High School (Lagawe), Immaculate Conception School (Banaue), Saint Joseph’s School (Kiangan) and San Francisco High School (Lamut) started.

The five secondary schools competed in the different events such as ball games, racket games, track and field, literary-musical-dance contests and board games.

The athletic meet commenced with a Eucharistic celebration on the first day. On the second day, the delegates, in their sportswear paraded around the town and each delegate wears their sports uniforms. Atty. Mariano B. Buyagawan, Jr., Mayor of the friendliest town in the province of Ifugao warmly opened the program with his welcome address.

In his message, he informed the visitors about the old and new ordinances in town. These are the No Smoking Policy, No Spitting of Momma and the Walang Plastican, which are being strictly implemented and monitored by the municipality.

After  the tough competitions that lasted for almost four days, SFHS grabbed both the Men’s Basketball and Volleyball championships. Despite these winnings, the Franciscans ranked second. Tailing them were the ICS, AA, and SJS as 3rd,4th and 5th placers, respectively. Don Bosco High School ruled once again as the over-all champion of the IPSAA Meet.#Kimmy Faye Maddul
