July 11, 2018 marked the renewal of affiliation of the Municipality’s official radio station DWPH 105.3 with the Philippine Broadcasting Service – Bureau of Broadcast Services (PBS-BBS). The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Lamut and the PBS-BBS took place at the latter’s principal office at the 4th Floor of the Media Center Building, Visayas Avenue, Quezon City.

The PBS-BBS, a bureau created under Executive Order No. 297 dated July 25, 1987, is mandated to provide broadcast information on the activities, policies and directions of the government and the Presidency and shall also provide broadcast services to all regions of the country with particular focus on areas not adequately served by private networks.

With consideration that the Province of Ifugao’s demographic area is largely composed of rural communities, the Municipality of Lamut, thru its LGU, strongly believes that broadcast radio is a powerful and cost-effective means in reaching the public. Guided by its principle to create, promote and foster public awareness of the various programs in disaster management and projects pertinent to the mutual development of its constituents, the LGU once again agreed with the PBS-BBS to operate its radio frequencies as an affiliate.

Our Municipal Vice Mayor, Atty. Adryan B. Chaguile, represented the LGU-Lamut during said event, while Rizal Giovanni P. Aportadera, Jr., PBS-BBS Director, signed in behalf of the bureau, witnessed by Sangguniang Bayan Member Mark Anthony M. Indopia, Chairman of the SB’s Committee on Transportation, Public Facilities and Communication Technology and employees of the bureau.
