The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Ifugao Provincial Office launched the Shared Service Facility (SSF) Project at the Panopdopan Barangay Hall. The event was attended by the Municipal Mayor of LGU-Lamut, Panopdopan Barangay Officials, DTI-Ifugao personnel and the SSF co-operators. The launching program that included messages from the Provincial Director of DTI-Ifugao, Municipal Mayor of LGU-Lamut and President of the Organization , Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing and message of acceptance from the co-operators were done at the Panopdopan Barangay Hall while turn-over of the SSFs were done at the processing center of the beneficiaries.
The tilapia processors group of 15 members engaged in the production of deboned and smoked tilapia and tilangggit was provided with P460,000 worth of tilapia processing facilities comprising of a multi-purpose smoke house, 2 chest freezers, 2 stainless working tables and a vacuum sealer.
In the project overview, Provincial Director Valentin A. Baguidudol of DTI-Ifugao said that the SSF project is a big push for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) industry development. He also said that through this project, the MSMEs from the different industry sectors will have the opportunity to access specialized machines and equipments which would is very expensive if purchased individually. He also reiterated that said Shared Services Facilities aims to enhance the productivity through mechanized production and improve operation of MSMEs by addressing the gaps and bottlenecks in the value chain of priority industry clusters through the provision of mechanized equipment for their common use.
On the other hand, PD Baguidudol clarified that beneficiaries of the said facilities are required to pay fees to the project operator to defray operating cost of basic utilities.
Atty. Mariano B. Buyagawan, Jr., the Municipal Mayor of Lamut pledged his support for the project saying that his office is ready to support sustainable projects of organization and coop.
He also made mentioned in his message that the project is of great help alleviate poverty for Lamut constituents. Thus, he advised the beneficiaries to make use of the facilities wisely and productively. He lastly added the willingness of LGU Lamut to counterpart as co-operator for future SSF projects of the DTI.
Mr. Ceasar U. Binohlan, president of Panopdopan Fisherfolk Organization expressed his appreciation and gratefulness on the SSFs provided and gave the assurance that they will use the facilities appropriately and sustainably. # Harlequin B. Dug-a
